cefquinome sulfate — 88.92 mg (equal to 75 mg of cefquinome)

prednisolone — 10 mg



Liquid of white or yellowish color.


Pharmacological properties

Cefquinome is an antibiotic from the group of cephalosporins of the 4th generation. A bactericidal effect on gram-positive and gram-negative, aerobic, facultative-anaerobic and anaerobic microorganisms Еscherichia coli, Pseudomonas spp., Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus spp. (incl. S. dysagalactiae, S. agalactiae, S. uberis), as well as Proteus spp., Bacteroides spp., Fusobacterium necrophorum. The mechanism of action is based on destruction of the bacteria cell wall.

Due to its zwitter structure, cefquinome quickly penetrates bacteria into the cell and is highly resistant to beta-lactamases. Unlike previous generations of cephalosporins, it is not hydrolyzed by chromosome-encoded cephalosporinases of the Amp-C type or plasmid-mediated cephalosporinases of a number of enterobacteria.

When administered intracisternally, it is poorly absorbed into blood, due to that a high concentration in the udder tissue is achieved. Partially (less than 5%) binds to blood plasma proteins and is relatively rapidly excreted from the body (elimination half-life is 2-2.5 hours) unchanged with milk and urine.

Prednisolone is a synthetic glucocorticoid, has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, anti-exudative, decongestant, desensitizing and antitoxic properties. The mechanism of action is based on inhibition of macrophages accumulation, leukocytes in the focus of inflammation, a decrease in permeability of capillaries, inhibition of the release of microsomal enzymes and inflammatory mediators.

When administered intracisternally, it quickly penetrates the udder parenchyma and enters the bloodstream in a small amount. The plasma half-life is 3.3 hours. The half-life is 18-36 hours. Most of prednisolone (70-90%) in plasma binds to proteins (transcortin and albumin), is metabolized in the liver, excreted in milk and urine mainly in the form of inactive metabolites (up to 80%).



It is indicated for treatment of milking cows with clinical and subclinical mastitis caused by bacteria sensitive to Cefquinome.



Do not administer to animals sensitive to cephalosporins and other beta-lactam antibiotics.

Do not use simultaneously with other antibacterial drugs.


Administration and dosage

Draw milk from the affected quarter of the udder and disinfect the nipple before using the drug. The syringe tube is preheated to +30-35 °C, the cap is removed and the cannula is inserted into the milk channel of the nipple. The contents of the syringe are completely squeezed into the affected quarter of the udder, then pinch the top of the nipple and massage. Course — 3 injections with an interval of 12 hours.



Slaughter of animal is allowed in 4 days after the last administration of the drug, milk can be used for human consumption in 5 days (10 milkings). Milk obtained earlier than the specified period can be fed to non-productive animals depending on a conclusion of a veterinarian.

Store in a dry dark place, out of reach of children, at the temperature from +4 °С to +25 °С.
